Feras became Interim Chief Executive at the Office of Rail and Road (ORR) in April 2026.  He has almost 20 years' experience working within the rail industry, including ten years at ORR where Feras has had senior responsibility for oversight of Britain’s rail and England’s strategic road networks; Network Rail, HS1 and National Highways. His previous experience included roles in the rail sector, both in operations and infrastructure,  where he delivered franchise and business-improvement programmes. As Chief Executive, he leads ORR in its role to protect the interests of rail and road users. Feras is an executive member of the board.
